The Jacks or Better machines

jacks-better-machines

This is a very simple version of video poker that is particularly appreciated by beginners. It is defined as classic, but the best bets you can find within a casino are offered by this machine.

Its name comes from the necessity to get a pair of Jacks to make a profit.

The different payments

The Jacks or Better brings together interactivity, simplicity and most of all efficiency. The best returns can be found there. The latter are possible in particular when the strategies are interesting.

The 9/6 version offers a rate of 99.5% with a very small house advantage (0.5%). If you add a club membership with the different compensations and paybacks offered, the profits are very interesting. Those advantages are attributed to players depending on their bet and the time they spend playing.

The payments (in coins) for a 9/6 return on a a machine accepting between one and five coins are as follows:

  • Royal Flush: 250 to 4,000
  • Straight Flush: 50 to 250
  • Four of a Kind: 25 to 125
  • Full House: 9 to 45
  • Flush: 6 to 30
  • Straight: 4 to 20
  • Three of a Kind: 3 to 15
  • Two Pair: 2 to 10
  • Pair of Jacks: 1 to 5

In order to know the potential profits, all you need to do is multiply the number of coins by your bet.

For example, with a Straight Flush obtained with the maximum credit gives you 250 coins. For £0,20 bets, the player wins £50.

The most important profits are brought with the best hands. The amount is also proportional to the number of coins you bet. Conversely, this principle is not valid for the Royal Flush. When you choose to always play 5 coins, the opportunity to reduce the probability of profit is 1.5%.

It is also worth knowing that the numbers of coins mentioned above take into account the ones you played with. For a pair of Jacks, the ones you won represent your bet.
